Marjorie E. Mortenson
Marjorie E. Mortenson, 96, died June 22, 2017. She was born on Jan. 9, 1921 in Antigo, the daughter of Jesse and Pearl (Wood) Thorne. During WWII Marjorie served in the Women’s Army Air Corps. On July 26, 1944 she married Gordon Mortenson. Survivors include: one daughter, Sue Ann (Jerry) Juedes, Ringle; one son; Tom (Cathie) Mortenson, Rothschild; four grandsons; one great-grandson; one brother; and many other relatives. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held June 26 at Wausau Bible Church. Helke Funeral Services is assisting the family.
Adeline Prahl
Adeline Prahl, 87, Weston, died Monday, June 19, 2017. She was born Aug. 4, 1929 in the town of Texas to the late Arthur and Elsie (Steffen) Traska. Adeline married Norman Prahl on Sept. 8, 1951. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Jim) Glatczak of Wausau, Karen (Jon) Roble of Weston; sons, Jerome, Arlo (Sue), John, Clifford (Kristine) Prahl all of Wausau, 17 grandchildren, 10 (soon to be 13) great grandchildren, a sister, a brother, two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; son, Roger; five sisters and six brothers. Funeral services were held Friday, June 23, at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Easton. Helke Funeral Services is assisting the family.
Elaine E. Johnson
Elaine Emily Johnson, 92, Wausau, died Monday, June 19, 2017. Elaine was born Feb. 10, 1925 in Wausau to the late Arthur and Lydia (Porath) Woller. Elaine married Gerhard Johnson on June 1, 1946. Elaine is survived by her two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerhard; daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Gene Schuster; a granddaughter-in-law; and a sister. The funeral service was held Friday, June 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Joel S. Beilke
Joel S. Beilke, 46, town of Berlin, died Saturday, June 17, 2017. He was born on July 1, 1970 in Wausau to Gordon and Loretta (Zemke) Beilke. Survivors include his sons, Chaise (Jamie) and Shane Beilke; his parents; a brother, a sister, a nephew and a niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. A memorial service was held Thursday, June 22, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau.
Cy Koppa
Cy Koppa, 90, died June 17, 2017. He was born July 9, 1926, in the town of Cassel to the late Philip S. & Julia (Lepak) Koppa. In 1945-46, Cy served his country in the US Army in the Pacific, with the 3rd Engineers Combat Battalion, 24th Infantry Division. In 1952, Cy married Catherine Kittell and she preceded him in death in 1985. His second wife, Jennie Klawitter, died in 1999. Survivors include daughter Patty Koppa (Robert Zarracina), Stillwater MN, son Phil Koppa, Cordova TN; his dear friend Betty Kettunen, Wausau; several grandchildren; and a great-grandchild; a brother; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, and two brothers-in-law. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:15 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
Gerald “Jerry” D. Goetsch
Gerald “Jerry” D. Goetsch, 85, Largo, Fla., formerly of Wausau, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017. He was born March 6, 1932 in the town of Maine, son of the late Henry and Hattie (Genz) Goetsch. On Oct. 3, 1953, he married Carol Eckardt. Survivors include, his wife, Carol Goetsch, Largo, Fla.; two children, Kathy Goetsch, Largo, Fla. and Terry (Sharon) Goetsch, Tomahawk; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy Wilichowski
Dorothy Wilichowski, 80, Marathon, died Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was born Nov. 9, 1936 in Green Lake, daughter of the late Gus and Eva (Walkush) Bloch. On Oct. 10, 1959, she married Ruffin Wilichowski. Survivors include her husband, Ruffin, Marathon; daughters, Carleen (Timothy) Arland, Minnesota, Carla (Gary) Olinger, Minnesota, and Jill Browne, New Mexico; six grandchildren; her twin brother; and a sister. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Allan and Timothy. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Visitation will be Wednesday from Noon until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is in charge of arrangements.
Donna M. Zettler-Krall
Donna M. Zettler-Krall, 75, Wausau, died Sunday, June 18, 2017. She was born May 18, 1942 in Wausau, daughter of the late Floyd and Angeline (Bielen) Gierl. Donna married Duane Zettler in 1960. They later divorced. Duane passed away in 1997. She married Jerry Krall in Wausau in 1994. He survives. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Krall, Wausau; her children, Brenda (Craig) Reich, Marathon, Kim (Kent) Olson, Wausau, Corrine (Sean Shidell) Koenig, Wausau, Scott (Gail) Zettler, Athens; eight grandchildren; two great grandsons; one great granddaughter; her step children, Alison (Mike) Carter, Weston, Daniel (Jenni) Krall, Wausau; six step grandchildren, a step great granddaughter; three siblings, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister and a son-in-law. Memorial services were held Saturday, June 24, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau.
Shirley E. Riedl
Shirley Ellen (Ziebell) Riedl, 93, Wausau, died June 23, 2017. Shirley was born on Dec. 30, 1923 in Wausau, to the late Emil and Lena (Petzold) Ziebell. She married Walter Riedl on July 15, 1950. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ellen Ziebell (Michael Tatman); two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 7 at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 N. 6th St., Wausau. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret A. Kniess
Margaret “Marge” Ann Kniess, 74, died June 24, 2017. Marge was born June 6, 1943 to the late Edwin and Mabel (Wendt) Wegner. She married Roger Kniess on Aug. 17, 1963. She is survived by her husband, Roger, Wausau; children, Jerry (Shannon) Kniess, Wausau; Julie (John) Drake, Johnson Creek; and Jason (Peggy) Kniess, Rib Mountain; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; along with several nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law; and three siblings. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, 2822 N. 6th St., Wausau. Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Brainard Funeral Home – Wausau Chapel, 522 Adams St., Wausau. Visitation will also be held from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Wednesday.
Walline Jo Sikorski
Walline Jo Sikorski, 52, Mosinee, died Thursday, June 22, 2017. She was born in Wausau on May 5, 1965 to Wallace and Margaret (Dentler) Wadzinski. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Sikorski of Mosinee and Bobbie (Joe) Burk of Wausau; two granddaughters; her father; five brothers; two step-brothers; two sisters; and her sister-in-law. Walline was preceded in death by her Mom, a brother and her son, SGT Clint Sikorski. A funeral service was held Monday, June 26, at the Brainard Funeral Home-Wausau Chapel.
Shelly G. Boushley
Shelly G. Boushley 63, Schofield, died June 23, 2017. She was born to Tom and Edith Woods on March 16, 1954. She is survived by her husband, Gene; two sons, John Williams, North Carolina, Thomas (Jessica) Williams, North Carolina; two brothers; two sisters; one step brother; two grandchildren; two brothers-in-law. Preceded in death by her sister and step daughter, Kendra Rae Boushley. No formal services will be held.
Jodi L. Haroldson
Jodi Lynn Haroldson, 51, Wausau, died June 20, 2017. She was born Dec. 26, 1965 to James and Evelyn Zahn. She is survived by her husband, Robbie Haroldson; her children, James, Michael and Melissa Haroldson; a grandson; three siblings; two brothers-in-law; aunts and uncles and many cousins; and nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday, June 26, at St. John EV Lutheran Church, Wausau. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home is assisting family at this time.
Jack R. Sickler
Jack R. Sickler died June 20, 2017. He was born May 10, 1933 in the town of Weston to Ray and Fances “Poozy” Sickler. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Athie; his brother and sister; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; his mother-in-law and his fathers-in-law. He is survived by his children, Peggy (Russ) Harsch, Rick (Lois) Sickler and Becky Sickler (John Litza); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister; and two sisters-in-law. A gathering of celebration was held Sunday, June 25, at the Ringle Town Hall. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Dominic Lee Flaminio
Dominic Lee Flaminio, 41, Rothschild, gave his life on June 16, 2017, to save an 8-year-old boy from drowning. He was born March 8, 1976 to Gary and Renee (Beste) Flaminio. He is survived by his mother, Renee; a brother; girlfriend Josie and her children. He is preceded in death by his father Gary Flaminio. There will be a fare well gathering that family will announce at a later date. Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting family at this time.
