Scott Bedessem, 60, Wausau, died Dec. 15, 2016. He was born in Wausau to James Bedessem and Nancy (Chapiewsky) Bedessem. Scott is survived by his parents; two sisters; and one brother. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Donald N. James, 73, Weston, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016. Don was born in Numa, Iowa in 1943 to the late Norman and Betty (Russell) James. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964 serving as a Munitions Specialist. Don is survived by his wife, Kristine, and his daughters, Kira and Karen. Beside his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Hillary. Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston assisted the family.
Grace Polege, 90, Rib Mountain, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016. Grace was born Dec. 4, 1926, in La Porte, IN, daughter of the late William and Carrie May (Clemmons) Wicke. Grace is survived by three children, Donald (Sharolyn) Polege, of Lindstrom, MN, Charles Polege of Wausau, and Mary (Bill) Wilson of Lecanto, FL; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters; and a brother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Robert, husband Bud, a sister and three brothers. Helke Funeral Home assisted the family.
Louise Dvorscak, 90, Mosinee, died Dec. 19, 2016. Louise was born to the late Frank and Anna (Sapieha) Stomski on Aug. 4, 1926 in Knowlton. On June 19, 1948 she married Charles “Weasel” Dvorscak. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Char (Robert) Carroll, Rothschild, and Denise (Bill) Deering, Stevens Point; a granddaughter; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by two brothers; and three sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at St. Paul Catholic Parish, Mosinee. Family and friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Norman Hanson, 70, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016. Norman was born to Willard and Ardena (Winchell) Hanson on Dec. 12, 1946, in Tomahawk. He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons, Gregory Hanson and Norman Hanson; a granddaughter; two grandsons; two great granddaughters; six sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and three sisters. A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at John J. Buettgen Memorial Chapel, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Walter D. Kummerow, Jr. 90, Weston, died Dec. 18, 2016. He was born to Walter and Lucille (Schultz) Kummerow, Sr. on Sept. 26, 1926. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Mae (Luedtke) Kummerow; son, Jeffrey (Shirley) Kummerow, Rothschild; daughter Colleen (Ken) Olson, Glidden; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two sisters. John J. Buettgen Funeral Home assisted the family.
Robert T. Hladovcak, 84, Mosinee, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016. He was born in Chicago on Jan. 19, 1932, to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Grohola) Hladovcak. He married Mary Breitzke on Oct. 25, 1952. Survivors include his wife Mary; two sons, Rocco (Pam) Hladovcak, Mosinee, Robert S. (Kelly) Hladovcak, Mosinee; one daughter, Kim (Dan) Hegewald, Junction City; eight grandchildren; and three great-granchildren. Bob was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Arlowene “Tudy” Stahlecker, 77, Mosinee, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016. Tudy was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Devils Lake, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Leo and Florence (Barret) Fenner. She married Jerry Stahlecker on June 8, 1958. Survivors include a son, Jon (Carolyn Desnoyer) Stahlecker, Mosinee; a daughter, Brenda (Max) Campbell, Burkburnett, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers. Preceding Tudy in death were her husband and her brother. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.
Irene “Arlene” H. Benaszeski, 76, Rothschild, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016. She was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Florian and Lillian (Landowski) Wanta. She married David Benaszeski on Feb. 7, 1959. Survivors include her husband, David; two sons, James Benaszeski, Rothschild, and John (Tracy) Benaszeski, Tomahawk; two daughters, Lori Benaszeski, Minocqua, and Gayle (Terry) Rutlin, Rhinelander; six grandchildren; a brother; and a sister.
