Evelyn E. Winter
Evelyn E. Winter, 80, Schofield, died Friday, March 31. She was born March 18, 1937 in Wausau, daughter of the late Aloysius and Anna (Lang) Schilling. On February 12, 1982, she married Glenn Winter. Survivors include, four children, Jane Tuttle, Wausau, Joyce Gregory, Wausau, Lynn Gregory, Schofield and Ralph (Linda Rein) Gregory, Wausau; three grandchildren; one great-grandson ; and two sisters. Besides her parents and husband, Glenn, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Laurie Gregory and Denise Gregory; and many siblings. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
Frances King
Frances King, 99, Weston, died Thursday April 6. She was born October 24, 1917, in Ringle, daughter of the late John and Mary Ann (Glodowski) Landowski. On November 4, 1936, she married Henry King. Survivors include her children, Rose Marie Stanke, Minocqua, Martin (Elaine) King, Ringle, Alfred (Diane) King, Hatley, Clarence (Patricia) King, Mt. Prospect, Ill., Claudia (Robert) Vollmert, Weston; one daughter in law; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; five siblings; two brothers in law and two sisters in law. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; one son in law; three brothers; and six sisters. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday April 10 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish rosary at 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
Erica Mildred Christman
Erica Mildred Christman, 21, Auburndale, died Saturday, April 1. She was born May 13, 1995 in Wausau, daughter of Anthony and Debra (Thielman) Christman. Survivors include her parents, Anthony and Debbie Christman; grandparents; uncles and aunts and many other cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her greatgrandmother. Private family services will be held. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
Roger Walter Zillman
Roger Walter Zillman, 88, of Wausau died on Friday, April 7. He was born November 9, 1928 in Wausau to the late Walter and Audrey (Michaels) Zillman. He married Kathleen O’Driscoll on June 21, 1952.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen, daughter Barbara (Rod) Digman of Rib Mountain, two grandchildren; two great grandsons ; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law plus many nieces, nephews and their families. Roger was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas and David, two brothers, an infant sister, and one sister-in-law and her husband. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1104 S. 9th Avenue, Wausau. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m., until the time of services.
Katherine Jeanette Laffin
Katherine Jeanette Laffin, 83, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 4. Katherine was born May 24, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Eddie and Kathryn (Schlinger) Johnson. She married Brian Laffin, on November 3, 1951. Katherine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Brian; children, Tom Laffin, Susan (Dale) Kole and Candy (Mark) Radandt; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by one grandson, and 5 siblings. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Easton. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 9 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau; resuming at 10 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of service. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Evelyn “Babe” Bell
Evelyn “Babe” Bell died on Tuesday afternoon, April 4. She was born on August 4, 1918 in Amherst to the late Andrew and Signe (Velund) Brathovde. She married Alexander “Ralph” Bell on February 14, 1951. Survivors include her children, Linda (Nicholas) Lucas of Las Vegas, NV, Judy (John) Carlton of Salem, SC, Joseph (Patti) Bell of Placitas, NM, six grandchildren, great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Babe was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; one son, Ralph, two grandchildren and two brothers. Funeral services will be Noon on Saturday, April 8 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Dustin Robert Pochinski
Dustin Robert Pochinski, 22, of Wausau, died on April 7. Dustin was born on Thanksgiving, November 24, 1994 to David and Sandra (Woytasik) Pochinski. Dustin is survived by his parents, David and Sandra Pochinski of Wausau; one brother, Kyle; maternal grandparents; paternal grandpa; one uncle; three aunts; six cousins. Dustin is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends and his best friend, Bane.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at Brainard Funeral Home-Weston Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston, WI 54476. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
James “Jim” D. Seehafer
James “Jim” D. Seehafer,74, Wausau, died Wednesday, Apr 5th. James was born Nov. 29th, 1942, in Wausau, WI, and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Brian and Jennifer Seehafer, Weston, two grandsons: Parker and Ethan Seehafer; and a special friend, Felicia High. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Eveline Seehafer. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 12th, at the Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams Street, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Robert “Bob” Allen Gaffney
Bob was born and raised in Marshfield, WI. He married Wendy in 1978. Bob is preceded in death by one brother, one sister, his father Robert, and his mother Marcella (Sally). He is survived by his wife Wendy, his son Justin (Emily); three grandchildren; one sister and one brother. Bob was also Jaxon’s Godfather. Survivors include his aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, Wendy’s family, Emily’s family, and his close friends. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 229 S. 28th Avenue, Wausau, 54401. Visitation will be held Friday, April 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brainard Funeral Home, 522 Adams St., Wausau, 54403, and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass at church.
Virginia M. Gasiorowski
Virginia M. Gasiorowski, 89, of Kronenwetter, WI, died on March 28. Virginia was born in Illinois. Virginia is survived by her sister Loretta Kurtz and one nephew, and family; as well as two nieces and families. A private service will be held.
Jennifer J. Stommel Cournoyer
Jennifer J. Stommel Cournoyer, age 44, of Vesper, died on April 4. Jennifer was born Febuary 2, 1973 to the late Gene R. Stommel and Susan M. (Engebretson) Stommel in Sault St Marie, MI. Jennifer married Chad Cournoyer on June 25, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Companion dog Rocky, Mother Susan Stommel, Grandmother, one sister; one brother, stepmother,four stepsisters; eight nephews; five nieces and one Great-Nephew. She was preceded in death by her Father Gene R Stommel; two grandfathers, and Grandmother . A Celebration of life will be held at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home (formerly Higgins Funeral Home) at 631 E. Grand Ave, Wisconsin Rapids 54494 on April, 11th 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Florence Rose Dawiedczyk
Florence Rose Dawiedczyk, 94, formerly of Mosinee, died Tuesday, April 4. She was born on August 24, 1922, in Peplin, the daughter of the late Stanley and Hattie (Matuszak) Tobojek. She married Stanley Dawiedczyk on September 4. Survivors, include one daughter, Lucille Reasoner, Franklin, WI; one son, Dennis (Sandra) Dawiedczyk, Janesville, WI, five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great- grandchild; one sister in law as well as many nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by one son in law and four siblings. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
