Wausau–It’s fun to explore History in August as the Marathon County Historical Society hosts Storytime in the Garden and our annual Kid’s History Day.
Storytime in the Garden
Please come enjoy the beautiful Yawkey House Garden in full bloom as the Marathon County Historical Society’s “Storytime in the Garden” series returns the second Thursday of each month at 1 pm rain or shine. Our next one is Thursday, August 11th and will include storytelling, a craft, games and a sneak peek at the Railroad Club’s model train layout. Our books will be the Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Apple Doll. Of course, our craft is creating a caterpillar. Our last story time of the summer will be September 8th.
Kid’s History Day
On Thursday, August 18th from 9:00 am-Noon, the Marathon County Historical Society Kid’s History Day brings children ages 8-10 years old to the Woodson History Center and Yawkey House Museum to explore history in a fun and unique way! Activities include a look at our Model Train layout, a Scavenger Hunt, Craft, a Snack and much more. Pre-registration is required.
