Give The Gift Of Friendship! Azura Memory Care volunteers visit and spend time with clients as a one-on-one friend. Become a Mentor! Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer mentors in the School-Based program provide children individualized time and attention to promote positive attitudes and academic enrichment. Each volunteer Big and their Little meet weekly during the school year, utilizing resources available at the child’s school (library, gym, etc). Volunteers can choose to mentor a child in the following school districts: Abbotsford, Athens, D.C. Everest, Marathon, Merrill, Mosinee, or Wausau. Become a Literacy Tutor! Gigi’s Playhouse, a Down Syndrome Achievement Center, is looking for volunteers to facilitate educational and therapeutic skill development activities. Training and resources are provided, and you will work with 2 or 3 other volunteers. Programs serve all ages and program schedules vary! Get Your Family, Group, or Workplace Involved! Be part of United Way of Marathon County’s BOLD GOAL to lift 10,000 families to financial stability by helping out at the Community Closet. Shifts are every 1 st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 2 to 4pm. Tasks include: sorting donations and putting them out on the racks, ensuring that a variety of all clothing is out, and general organizing. Register at

Do You Love To Cook? Provide a home-cooked meal for up to 8 clients at Keep Area Teens Safe, a youth shelter care facility serving runaway and homeless youth. Please call (715) 298-5053 to confirm any allergies and set up a drop off time.
Coffee, Coffee Creamer and Sugar Needed! The Open Door of Marathon County would like donations of coffee for serving their guests. The Open Door offers temporary help, such as clothing, resources, and a safe place, to current and newly released inmates.
