The Foundation of Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital is pleased to announce the 2018 recipients of the Sister Sharee Hurtgen Scholarship.

The Sister Sharee Hurtgen Scholarship aids children of associates of Ascension Saint Clare’s Hospital or the Diagnostic & Treatment Center or Associates who are not eligible for tuition reimbursement and plan to attend an educational program, apprentice program, or classes in pursuit of a technical, associate or bachelor’s degree.

Sister Sharee was part of the team when Ascension St. Clare’ s opened its doors in 2005, and retired from her role as Patient Advocate in 2014. She served as a volunteer until spring 2018.

The 2018 Sister Sharee Scholarship recipients are:

Adam DeMuth of Arbor Vitae: DeMuth is a recent graduate of Lakeland Union High School, Minocqua. He will attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior this fall.

Angelica, Ramsey of Mosinee. Ramsey has been a Food Service Worker at Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital since 2015. She currently attends Bethany Lutheran College majoring in Chemistry and Biology.

“We are grateful to Sister Sharee and those who have supported this scholarship program,” said Patti Shafto-Carlson, Ascension St. Clare’s Foundation Director. “Its focus on students who may have been overlooked in the traditional scholarship selection process is a fitting tribute to Sister Sharee who impacted the lives of many patients and associates at Ascension St. Clare’s.”

For more information on the Foundation of Ascension St. Clare’s or the Sister Sharee Hurtgen Scholarship, please contact Shafto-Carlson at 715.393.2604 or [email protected]
