What is one of the best things about a going out for a meal? The anticipation. Starting April 1, you can find menus online at DowntownWausauDining.com to whet your appetite for this year’s first Downtown Wausau Dining Week, coming up April 16-20.

Ten downtown restaurants will be participating in Downtown Wausau Dining Week this spring. Throughout the week, diners will have the opportunity to sample several three-course price-fixed menus for lunch and dinner, ranging in price from $7-15 for lunch and $12-35 for dinner, depending on the restaurant. Some restaurants will be creating new menu items for the event and others will be highlighting their customers’ classic favorites.

Participating restaurants include 319 Bistro, Back When Café, City Grill, Daly’s, La Prima, J. Gumbo’s, Jalapeno’s, Malarkey’s/Townie’s, Polito’s and Peking Restaurant. Restaurants will continue serving their regular menus as well, and reservations are not generally required.

Rollie Thomas, owner of La Prima Deli, expands on why the event is such a draw for people.

“This week is a great opportunity for people to experience great savings on quality, artisan lunches and dinner prepared by your community, small, locally-owned businesses. It’s your River District! It’s your opportunity!”

Mitch Meurette, co-owner of Peking Restaurant also encourages diners to come downtown to take advantage of a special menu and cost savings. “You will be truly amazed!” he says.

Wausau hosted its first Downtown Wausau Dining Week in April 2016 and the event drew thousands of diners to downtown restaurants. The main objectives of Downtown Wausau Dining Week are to show off the talent and diversity downtown restaurants have to offer. Within just a few blocks you can get American, Chinese, Cajun, deli, bistro and great bar food, among other cuisines.

Grab your spouse, family, friends, and coworkers for a week of exploring and experiencing new and classic downtown eateries for Downtown Wausau Dining Week!
