In our community, there are children in foster care who need a voice, a stable home, and a consistent, caring adult in their lives. An upcoming event offers a unique opportunity for Marathon County residents to learn how they can be that person.
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and Marathon County Social Services are co-hosting a CASA & Foster Care Info Night. This isn't just another informational session; it's a heartfelt invitation to explore two critical roles that support local children: becoming a CASA volunteer or a foster parent.
The evening provides a relaxed and inspiring setting to learn and connect. Attendees will have the chance to meet current CASA volunteers and foster parents, hearing their firsthand stories and experiences. What makes this event truly special is its location: the historic Everest Mansion, a Wausau landmark not often open to the public. Guests can enjoy free food, beverages, and tours of the iconic home while they gather information.
The message is clear: "We need you". Whether you can advocate for a child in court or open your home to them, you have the power to change a child's story for the better.
This welcoming event is free to all, but an RSVP is required. If you've ever wondered how you can make a profound difference in a child's life, this is your chance to find out.
