Wausau area swimmers compete at state swim

MADISON – D.C. Everest had two individuals, Ben Halamback and Paton Rudeen, plus two relay teams participate in the 2020 WIAA Division 1 State Swimming Championships held at the UW-Madison Natatorium on Feb. 22.
Payton Rudeen competed in the 100 yard breaststroke and finished on the podium in sixth place with a time of :58.71.
Ben Halamback participated in the 200 yard Individual Medley and placed eighth overall, with a time of 1:56.01. He also swam in the 100 yard breaststroke where he finished 16th, with a time of :59.84.
Both Halamback and Rudeen participated with their teammates, Jack Tegart and Kyle Hunter, in the 200 yard Medley Relay. The team finished 19th overall, with a finished time of 1:39.72.
Hunter, Halamback, and Rudeen, along with Alexander Wayda, competed in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay where they finished 16th, with a time of 1:30.21.
D.C. Everest finished 19th overall, as a team, with 39 points.
