The Wausau Times/Buyers’ Guide is now located at 800 Scott St., which for many years housed the Wausau Daily Herald.
MMC
About 6 months ago our Wausau Times office was notified that the building we were renting on Wausau’s northwest side was going to be converted into a homeless shelter by Bridge Street Mission. This change forced MMC to move to a new home as of February 1, 2024; now relocated to 800 Scott St., just a few blocks east of Wausau’s popular 400 Block in the downtown area.
Some of you may recognize the entrance as for many many years this building was once the home of the Wausau Daily Herald. Several years ago the WDH had abandoned the market in Wausau, no longer having any staff, printing, delivery or sales in this building. A private investor has purchased this location from WDH and is converting it to the Fairway Professional Building, with our City Pages and Wausau Times Buyers’ Guide papers being the first tenants in the front portion of this huge building.
Brad Bauer and his father Keith Bauer bought the building in 2020 with the idea of renovating it and turning it into office suites. That included a lot of work on the heating and cooling systems and the roof among other maintenance issues, Bauer told Wausau Times. The Bauers own Bauer Megastorage, and Brad Bauer and his wife own Wausau Dance Academy.
City Pages and the Wausau Times, both owned by Multi Media Channels LLC., from right here in Wisconsin, became the first tenants in the new building, called Fairway Business Suites.
The Bauers plan to start marketing to attract more tenants to the building, and he’s got one ace up his sleeve: Bauer is installing a golf simulator in the former press bay. Tenants will be able to use it as well, he says. And there is a shared conference room for tenants to use for meetings. Contact Bauer if you want to be our neighbors.
