Blake Opal-Wahoske leaves Wausau River District after years of service.

Wausau River District executive director Blake Opal-Wahoske has announced his resignation after eight and a half years of service.
“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve the Wausau River District,” Blake said. “I have a true passion for Main Street and its mission of preservation and economic revitalization, and I am proud of the work our team has done to build and strengthen our district during my tenure.”
Under his leadership, the organization doubled its budget and was recognized with numerous awards, including the national Great American Main Street award and fifteen Wisconsin Main Street awards. It was also recognized with the local Small Business of the Year award from the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce. Opal-Wahoske’s last day will be April 17th , 2024.
Alex Eichten will be the acting interim office manager effective April 8 th , 2024.
