Partner with United Way of Marathon County – Make a Difference One Leaf at a Time!
The initiative offers free leaf raking to elderly or disabled homeowners
FOR THE WAUSAU TIMES
United Way of Marathon County is looking for volunteers to join them on Make a Difference Day, Saturday, October 28 to rake leaves for elderly or disabled homeowners.
Seasonal lawn care like leaf removal presents a significant challenge, as the cost of hiring out these services can be out of reach. United Way of Marathon County is seeking to help relieve that worry by coordinating volunteers to rake these yards, allowing people to care for and remain in their homes without taking on an additional household expense.
You can join us in this effort by gathering a group to spend a few hours raking, bagging, and hauling leaves for households across Marathon County. This is a great opportunity for a group of friends, neighbors, youth groups, or coworkers to team up and make a direct impact in your community.
If you need your yard raked, please call 211 Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
