Marathon County hosts first weekly COVID-19 testing event

WAUSAU– The Marathon County Health Department held its first weekly COVID-19 testing on Oct. 20, with the aid of the Wisconsin National Guard.
The event provided drive-through COVID-19 nasal swab testing at the Marathon County Emergency Management Office, 1308 West St., Wausau.
Of the 300 tests available, 235 tests were conducted.
Community testing sites are being established across the state of Wisconsin. Testing is available to persons five years or older with COVID symptoms and close contacts to persons with COVID. Individuals who have had a known exposure should also be tested.
Registration for testing can be done electronically. Staff will assist people with registering if needed, but everyone is strongly encouraged to register early.
Testing is held every Tuesday at the Marathon County Emergency Management Office.
