The male found deceased at the Village Inn in the Village of Marathon City on April 19, 2018 has been identified as Brian J. Kienast (DOB 07/15/1989). Kienast was reported missing from Adams County, Wisconsin on Nov. 22, 2017. Prior to his disappearance, Kienast was known to be in the area of Marathon City during the week of Thanksgiving 2017.

The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and Marathon City Police Department are trying to establish the circumstances of Kienast’s disappearance and death. At this time, we are asking for public input. If you saw or had contact with Kienast last November or since, or have any information pertaining to Kienast’s activities over the past six months, please use any of the methods below to contact law enforcement:

•Remain anonymous by submitting a tip at www.marathoncountycrimestoppers.org, or calling 877-409-8777, or through the P3 Tips Mobile App.

•Call the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office at 715-261-1200 and choose option 5 for the Investigations Division.

•Call the Village of Marathon City Police Department at 715-443-2470.
