Search Warrant/Narcotics Arrest
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, (SIU) Special Investigations Unit, comprised of investigators from Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Wausau Police Department and Everest Metro Police Department, made several arrests in connection with the investigation into a high volume marijuana distributer in the City of Wausau. The execution of several traffic stops and a search warrant resulted in the seizure of over one and one-quarter (1-1/4) pounds of high grade marijuana, Schedule II drugs, a large quantity of drug paraphernalia and a firearm. Three children were taken into protective custody by Marathon County Social Services. Three dogs and two cats were taken into protective custody by Wausau Police Department.
At this time, John Deckow (24), Joseph Deckow (23), Hayley Deckow (24) and Bryon Childers (34) are in custody at the Marathon County Jail in connection with the incident. They all will have various charges, including but not limited to:
• Possession of THC with Intent to Deliver
• Possession of Schedule II Drugs
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place
• Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Vehicle
• Illegally Possess a Prescription
• Felony Child Neglect
• Misdemeanor Child Neglect
• Mistreating Animals
• Failure to Provide Proper Shelter for Animals
• Felony Bail Jumping
• Misdemeanor Bail Jumping
Joseph Deckow is currently on bond related to a criminal drug investigation from August 2015, for Possession with Intent – THC, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct.
John Deckow is currently on bond related to criminal traffic offenses from January 2016, Hit & Run and Operating without a Valid License.
