The excitement of spelling bees isn’t just for kids anymore! Wausau is thrilled to announce its First Annual Adult Spelling Bee, set to take place on October 22, 2024, at the Labor Temple (LT Club).
This event promises to be a fun and engaging evening, bringing together adults from all walks of life to showcase their spelling prowess. Participants will compete for the coveted title of Wausau’s Best Speller.
Highlights of the Event:
● Competitive Spelling Rounds: Participants will spell their way through
increasingly challenging words. Teams from Domtar, Peoples State Bank, GEMS
Learning Center, WAOW-TV 9, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
● Audience Participation: Spectators can join in the fun by spelling along on paper
and cheering on their team.
● Silent Auction: Lots of prizes to bid on.
● 50/50 Raffle: Half of money collected during intermission given to the winner.
● Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary snacks and a cash bar.
● Prizes: Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Name recorded on
plaque to be displayed at Marathon County Literacy Council.
“We’re excited to bring this unique event to Wausau,” said Judy Staszak, Event Coordinator. “It’s a great opportunity for adults to have fun, challenge themselves, and connect with others in the community.”
