Local Gardeners Group Introduces Flexible Membership Option to Welcome More Community Members

Posted

The North Central Wisconsin Master Gardeners (NCWMGA) are inviting community members to dig into gardening in a new, more flexible way. The organization has introduced an Associate Member category designed for individuals who love gardening but may not have the time to pursue full Master Gardener certification.

The Associate Member option opens the door for more people to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts, learn new skills, and participate in local events without the commitment of required training hours or volunteer service.

“We know that many people are interested in gardening and being part of our organization, but life is busy,” said Karen Tesch, President of the Master Gardeners Association. “This option allows them to engage at a level that works for them while still enjoying the benefits of being part of a knowledgeable and welcoming group.”

Associate Members can attend events, connect with experienced gardeners, and gain access to educational opportunities throughout the year. The program is ideal for beginners, hobby gardeners, retirees, or anyone looking to build community through a shared interest in plants and the outdoors.

NCWMGA is well known in the region for its community involvement, including plant sales, educational programming, and public outreach efforts that promote sustainable gardening practices.

“This is about making gardening more accessible,” Karen added. “You don’t need to be an expert, rather just have an interest and a willingness to learn.”

Residents interested in becoming an Associate Member are encouraged to reach out to NCWMGA for more information or to connect with members at upcoming local events.
