Charles (Chuck) George Grizzell, 80, of Weston, WI, passed away on 10/04/26, surrounded by loving family members. He was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December 2025, and small intestine cancer in September 2026.
Chuck was a creative, hardworking man when completing jobs at Marathon Cheese Corp. in Marathon, WI, and Solo Cup Company in Chicago, IL, Each for 25 years as an Industrial Mechanic.
Chuck was born on 03/12/46 in Chicago, IL to Claud (Si) and Mary Elizabeth (Petrungaro) Grizzell. Growing up he enjoyed going to a police station across the street from their home and talking to the officers (and getting candy). As a young adult, he and his friends Dennis Palonis and Don Baro enjoyed racing cars at Route 30 Drag Strip.
Outside of work, Chuck enjoyed fishing, antiquing, restoring old gas pumps, woodworking, working on the family vehicles, watching NASCAR races and the Green Bay Packers. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandsons. When living in Blue Island, IL, Chuck used to ride his bike to downtown Chicago and ride up/down Lake Shore Drive. When Chuck retired, he bought himself a 1986, Red, Corvette Convertible!!! He and Clara enjoyed many car shows, cruises and dinner with the Wisconsin Valley Corvette Club since the summer of 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Clara (Bilthuis) Grizzell, daughter Elizabeth (Rob) Crikelair, grandsons Abraham and Jacob; his sisters Gail (John) Vye of Loves Park, IL, and Donna (Mickey) Macaluso of Grants Pass, OR; nieces Mary Rose (Ryan) Mowry of Loves Park, IL and Kim Macaluso of Grants Pass, OR; nephews Michael and Dominick Macaluso of Grants Pass, OR. Also living in Oregon are great nieces Bailey Macaluso, Emily Hill and Lisa Trewartha; great nephews Antony, Dominick, Michael and Nicholas Macaluso; great-great nephew Ben Watson; and great-great niece Anna Watson.
Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, three aunts and one uncle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, starting at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home, 948 Grand Avenue, Schofield, WI, 54476. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. There will also be a memorial service in Illinois at a later date.
