D.J. Schult has been hired to lead the Wolves women’s basketball program next season. Schult moves over from the varsity assistant position in the men’s program which finished a winning season this year. His other high school coaching experiences include leading the Wausau West boys/girls cross country programs and assisting the Northland/WVLHS co-op baseball team. He has also coached Wausau West boys/girls travel basketball, middle school basketball/volleyball at Trinity Lutheran and coached Wausau Area Youth baseball.
WI Valley Lutheran is a Christian school of approximately 60 students with small numbers in the women’s program, but that hasn’t stopped them from being competitive against many of the division 5 schools on their schedule. Next year will be the school’s first year as a member of the Central WI Conference, a move away from the independent ranks. “Coach Schult is a fierce competitor with a passion for the sport, a wealth of coaching experience, and love for the mission of WI Valley Lutheran. We are excited to have him lead the program!” Jamie Wehrs, Athletic Director for WVLHS.
