WI Utility Moratorium ends April 15

Posted

Wisconsin’s utility moratorium is ending April 15, after which utility service providers can once again disconnect service to households if payments are not current.

If your household is behind on utility payments, first call your utility service provider to arrange payment options and to avoid disconnection once the moratorium ends. According to its website, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission can also help in negotiating a reasonable agreement with your utility provider, if necessary.

If you find you need financial assistance with your payments, call Energy Services in Wausau at 715-842-3111 to see if you qualify.

For any questions about these or any other resources, call United Way’s 2-1-1 by dialing 2-1-1, 715-848-2255 or 1-800-922-5590 (toll free) to speak with an Information Specialist. 2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
