Wausau School District honors outstanding volunteers

The Wausau School District kicked off American Education Week with its annual Friends of Education Breakfast to honor outstanding volunteers who go above and beyond in providing volunteer service to our students and schools.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Williams and Board of Education President Lance Trollop presented awards to the following volunteers who were nominated by District staff: Lt. Todd Baeten, Julie Kobin, Ruth Sazama, Amy Cattanach, Bernice Kohlman, Suzanne Schroeder, Sheryl Goetsch, Corey Mehlos, Kurt Zengler, Lisa Gutknecht and Alec Nocco.

Wausau School District has been celebrating Friends of Education during American Education week since 1982. The week is always observed the week prior to Thanksgiving.
