Northland Lutheran High School (NLHS) announced today that it has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Ed & Joyce Creske Family Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin. The funding will directly support the school's $2.25 million project to construct a new 6,200 square foot building addition dedicated to scaling its Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, and Trades programs.
The expansion will feature three advanced classroom and laboratory spaces designed to alleviate space constraints and support program-specific activities. The new facility will provide the specialized infrastructure and equipment needed to maximize learning and expand the hands-on curriculum.
Starting in 2018, NLHS designed and built these targeted programs to address severe shortages of skilled trades people, healthcare workers, and STEM professionals. Developed in collaboration with Northcentral Technical College (NTC), the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce, and industry leaders, the curriculum focuses on skills needed by local employers with the goal of encouraging graduates to remain in or return to our community for long-term careers. The programs have proven highly popular with more than 78% of students enrolled in at least one course of the three programs for the 2026-27 school year.
