New monthly open mic poetry night comes to MCPL Wausau HQ

Poets around central Wisconsin and beyond are invited to the Marathon County Public Library’s monthly open poetry night! MCPL will offer “Random Moments of Verse” on Dec. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.

The program, hosted by local poet A.J. Binash, will start with an hour of open mic readings where you can read your own poems, the works of others or just sit back and listen! The second hour will consist of readings by featured poets, including Hannah Kreibich of Minneapolis and Mark Berriman, the author of three books of poetry. Other poets from around the Midwest are slated for upcoming sessions.

“Random Moments of Verse” will be held on the second Thursday of each month, with another session slated for Jan. 12.
