MCPL Wausau to offer last Chat & Challenge Book Club of spring

Posted

Tweens are invited to the Marathon County Public Library for a monthly book discussion and to participate in some fun, competitive challenges during its final Chat & Challenge Book Club meeting of the spring on May 17 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.

Tweens will discuss the book One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams-Garcia. The story takes place during the summer of 1968 and follows 11 year-old Delphine and her two sisters, who arrive in Oakland only to receive a cold reception from their mother, who wants to enroll them in the nearby Black Panther summer camp.

After the book discussion, tweens can compete against one another in a variety of fun, interactive “Minute to Win It”-style challenges! Read the book and join us for this fun and interactive afternoon!

This event is free and open to all tweens with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7220 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/4098.
