Learn the history of WI’s public broadcasting at MCPL Edgar Branch

Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) and Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) have been entertaining and educating folks in the Badger State for decades. But how did these stations get off the ground and pave the way for other public broadcasting outlets, including NPR? Find out when the Marathon County Public Library hosts “The History of Wisconsin Public Broadcasting” on November 2 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edgar Branch Library, 224 S. Third Ave., Edgar.

Rick Reyer, WPR's regional manager, will give an informative presentation on the history of public broadcasting in Wisconsin, including how the Wisconsin Idea helped influence the growth and expansion of both public radio and television statewide and across the country.
