Today, education can be delivered many ways, including online. But 100+ years ago, most primary education took place in a one-room schoolhouse. Join the Marathon County Public Library for a presentation focused on the history of the one-room schoolhouse on October 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at MCPL’s Stratford Branch, 400 N. Fourth Ave., Stratford.
Gary Gisselman from the Marathon County Historical Society will lead the presentation, which will explore the use of one-room schoolhouses in the 19th and 20th centuries. Gisselman will place a special emphasis on schoolhouses located in Marathon County.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-687-4420 or visit https://mcpl.us/events?event_id=3889.
