Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Marathon County

Posted

A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) opened Tuesday in Marathon County to assist individuals who have uninsured losses or emergency needs related to the April 13 – 23, 2026, storms and flooding. At a DRC, you can get help applying for federal assistance, speak to representatives from state and federal agencies, receive updates on your FEMA application for assistance and learn about the appeals process. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2026.

The center is open until further notice, and hours and location are as follows:

Town of Ringle Municipal Center

223207 Abt Road, Ringle, WI 54471

Hours: Monday through Friday: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to verify DRC hours of operation at www.marathoncounty.gov/IA before heading to the DRC in the event unexpected changes occur.

FEMA financial assistance may include money for basic home repairs, personal property losses or other uninsured disaster-related needs such as childcare, transportation, medical needs, funeral, or dental expenses.

Marathon County residents who apply for FEMA assistance will receive a letter by mail or on their DisasterAssistance.gov account. If the letter says you “cannot be approved” for some categories of assistance, it does not mean that you have not been approved for assistance. It is important to read the letter carefully as it will explain your application status and advise what you need to do to continue the process.

You are not required to go to a Disaster Recovery Center to receive FEMA assistance. The fastest way to apply is by going online at DisasterAssistance.gov or the Spanish language DisasterAssistance.gov/es. You can also call 800-621-3362. After applying, create an online account at DisasterAssistance.gov or DisasterAssistance.gov/es to check your status tracker for updates and upload documents requested by FEMA to move your application forward.

If you need more information or additional help:

  • Download the FEMA app to complete your application and find other resources.
  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362 for assistance in multiple languages.

If you use a relay service, such as video relay, captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service. To view an accessible video on how to apply, visit What You Need to Know Before Applying for FEMA Assistance.
