Marathon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help to identify individuals involved with credit card skimming in the City of Wausau.

Since the middle of November, credit card skimmers have been located in Shawano, Marshfield, Tomahawk, Rhinelander and Wausau. A skimmer is a portable device that is attached to a credit card machine at a gas pump or ATM machine. When the thief returns to remove the device, the credit card user’s personal information is captured which enables the criminal to steal money from their account. USE CAUTION WHEN USING A CREDIT CARD AT A GAS STATION PAY AT THE PUMP OR ATM. If something looks suspicious don’t use it.
