•Wisconsin Valley Auxiliary Shriners - Second Friday of each month from September through May, 11:30 a.m., Palm’s Supper Club, Weston. Through giving of knitting, crocheting, monetary gifts and purchasing toys, the organization supports the General Auxiliary at the Shriners hospital in the Twin Cities, MN. • 55+ and Wanting to Volunteer? RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) can find the right volunteer position for you! • Lunchtime Visitors. Wausau Area Mobile Meals invites caring people, interested in helping provide a nutritious meal to the homebound, to take a regular route one day a week. • Invest in the Life of a Child. Big Brothers Big Sisters matches you and a child for activities that take place at the Boys & Girls Club. “Bigs” meet with their “Littles” weekly, for academic/recreational activities in a safe/structured environment. • Child Care to Help Foster Parents and Children. Provide a safe, loving environment for a few hours or a weekend, while foster parents take a break. Lutheran Social Services provides a stipend for this great need in WI. Call 715-849-3344 to find out more.
• Volunteer for the Housing & Homelessness Coalition Point-in-Time Count and/or Project Connect. On the night of January 25, go to areas in Wausau to share resources & conduct a survey with those experiencing homelessness. The morning of January 26, assist the Project Connect housing resource fair in providing information to anyone who needs housing assistance in our area. New volunteers must attend a training session.
