WAUSAU – The Wausau City Hall reopened July 20 on what Mayor Katie Rosenberg called a trial basis.
“This week is a ‘trial’ week before Early Voting starts next week along with Open Book for the Assessment Department,” Rosenberg stated.
“This will continue at least until August 7,
2020, at which time this will be evaluated to determine continuation.
Rosenberg added that precautions have
been enacted to mitigate the chance for any potential COVID spread.
“Maintenance has hired K-Tech Cleaning to
continue cleaning constantly throughout city hall and hitting the high touch
areas. Brian Bartkowiak has altered our HVAC system to bring more fresh air
into the building so there is less recirculating. We have sanitizing stations
available for the public entering the building. Masks are available from the HR
Department if employees want them,” she explained.
Rosenberg said that no criteria has been
created for staying open after the end of the early voting period, which will
be evaluated at that time.
