FOR THE WAUSAU TIMES

In Oct of 2022, Heather Van Schoick and Lucy Runnells opened Harts N Scraps, a scrapbooking/card making/stamping store in the Cedar Creek Mall in Rothschild, WI.

The store’s products mainly revolve around paper crafts. They have a unique business model, as they purchase “destash” from individuals pairing down their craft supplies or purchase from close outs and craft estates. By purchasing products this way, it allows them to offer a large variety of items at a much lower price than other big box craft stores, which allows showcasing of products that may not be available locally since they purchase product all over the US. 95% of the merchandise is brand new and has never been opened, 5% is what they call, “lightly loved”, and has been fully tested, sharpened or has been repackaged to resell.

Harts N Scraps offers classes several times a month focusing on techniques to make cards, as well as other paper crafting projects. They also have “Open Craft” time every Friday, where a crafter can bring in their own project to work on while meeting new crafting friends.

The store is open Tues - Sat 10-7, closed on Sundays and Mondays.
