United Methodist Church to host group on 4th Tuesday of each month
The Alzheimer’s Association is pleased to announce that an Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group will begin meeting on the 4th Tuesday of each month in Mosinee. This group will meet from 2-3:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 607 13th Street. The first meeting in 2017 is set for Tuesday, Feb. 28. Rose Boron is the group’s facilitator. These monthly support group meetings are open to all area families and caregivers. There is no charge to attend.
Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.
The groups encourage caregivers to maintain their own personal, physical and emotional health as well as optimally care for the persons with dementia. In addition, a support group can provide a needed break from caregiving responsibilities.
For more information, please contact Rose Boron at 715.212.1548 or contact the Alzheimer’s Association at 1.800.272.3900.
