WALKING LANES OPEN AT GREENHECK TURNER COMMUNITY CENTER
Greenheck Turner Community Center opened the Walking Lanes on Monday, Sept. 9th.

After a year of construction, the rubberized walking lanes are ready for walkers. The new 135,000 sq. ft. turf arena is surrounded by walking lanes that will be great for low-impact walking and sprinting. The lanes will be available for anyone with a Fitness Center Membership and during the special community time on Wednesdays.

The lanes have a curtain and nets to separate them from the turf playing surface. Most times walkers will be able to walk during turf activities such as practice or family programming events. The lanes will be lined, and it takes four times around to equal one mile. The lanes will also be used for sprinting and will have space for track to practice, speed and agility training and long jump.
Fitness Center Memberships start at $15/month for adults.
$14/month for seniors
$7/month for college students
Greenheck Turner Community Center also accepts Silver Sneakers. Silver Sneakers is a free or low-cost fitness and wellness program for older adults that helps them get active and connect with others and is available at no additional cost to seniors 65+ on eligible Medicare plans.
The track surface was delayed due to supply chain and not available at the grand opening event. The Community Center has family programming activities, recreation sports, The new space also includes four meeting rooms, two sports simulators, and community spaces.
