New Jobs on the Block
This unique job fair aims to engage downtown businesses and larger employers, focusing on both workforce development and increasing business visibility.

A unique job fair created to engage employers will be held on the 400 Block in downtown Wausau from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.
Businesses can increase their visibility and connect with potential job seekers through their participation in this event. Any area businesses that are hoping to hire full-time, part-time or seasonal employees are welcomed. Tables at the event can be reserved for a $50 registration fee.
Purpose: The event seeks to attract the public as well as any job seekers. Businesses can increase their visibility and connect with potential job seekers through their participation in this event. Any area businesses that are hoping to hire full-time, part-time or seasonal employees are welcomed.
Employer Engagement: To ensure a vibrant and engaging environment, the 400 Block in downtown Wausau has been reserved for the event. Businesses are encouraged to participate by reserving a table for a $50 registration fee, which will cover marketing and rental costs. Downtown businesses are encouraged to share their current and future hiring needs so that these can be included in marketing materials and day-of-event signage. Any business that is hiring is welcomed to reserve a spot on the square.
Engaging the Public: Wausau and downtown area businesses can engage the public and job seekers by offering interactive activities, giveaways, and on-the-spot interviews. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will also have its mobile careers lab on hand. This will not only attract more attendees, but also create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere.
What you should bring: Employers participating on the square should bring chairs (table provided), canopy (no staking allowed—weights only), company marketing literature and staff to speak with job seekers.
Refreshments: Snacks and water will be provided for employers. There is a plan for a food truck to be onsite and downtown restaurants may offer day-of specials.
Event Planners: This event has been organized by the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board along with their workforce partner agencies at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Forward Service Corporation, CW Solutions and the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce.
