WAUSAU – Wausau West High School student, Eric Schmidt is the first in West history to obtain a championship in the Wisconsin SkillsUSA competition.

Schmidt grabbed first place in precision machining at the state competition and secured his place in the National SkillsUSA competition.

The SkillsUSA helps middle school, high school, and postsecondary students prepare for trade and technical careers.
