UWSP Continuing Ed to offer virtual youth summer camps

CENTRAL WISCONSIN – The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Office of Continuing Education and Outreach is offering several virtual youth summer camps this year including: 39th Annual College for Kids, the Show Must Go Online, IT Camp, Space Exploration, and others.
College for Kids is back for its 29th year bringing a variety of classes to kids, entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Students can choose to take a program at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., or both, during the week of June 7-11. Class examples include Big Wild Cats, Science of Baking, Babysitter Basics, Chinese 101, Playful Paper Arts, and others.
IT Camp will teach students to code, develop, and program their own video game. No previous background in IT or programming necessary to enjoy learning how to create side scrolling and survival games. For grades 9-12, camp is available the week of June 7-11 and for grades 5-8, camp is available the week of June 14-18.
Explore the final frontier in Space Exploration Camp. Through a mix of education talks, hands-on building, and augmented reality technology, students will immerse themselves in learning about the Observable Universe. For grades 9-12, camp is available the week of June 21-25 and for grades 5-8, camp is available the week of June 28- July 2.
