Marathon County Health Department issues advisory
From the Marathon County Health Department
On March 31, the State Supreme Court issued a decision effectively eliminating the Governors Executive Order on masking.
On April 1, Marathon County Health Officer, Joan Theurer, issued an advisory stating that individuals can control the spread of COVID 19 by wearing masks.
“This is an effective prevention measure that has helped us slow the spread of COVID and I advise people to continue to wear masks to protect the health and safety of everyone” stated Theurer.
The Aadvisory follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health Services that recommends wearing a mask that covers your nose and mouth to protect yourself and others. Wearing a face mask, physically distancing, limiting in-person gatherings, and washing hands are actions individuals can take to decrease their risk for being exposed to COVID-19. These actions are necessary until the vast majority of people are vaccinated.
By carrying out these actions, each of us can reduce the likelihood of a surge in cases similar to what we experienced Sept. 2020 – Jan. 2021.
