The Marshfield Clinic HMR Weight Management Program in Minocqua and Wausau recently were designated as recipients of multiple 2018 HMR Gold Standard Certificates of Achievement. These awards distinguish Marshfield Clinic’s Weight Management Programs from hundreds of clinics nationwide using the program for weight loss developed by Health Management Resources (HMR), a national weight management company.

HMR recognizes programs that demonstrate excellence in performance and patient care by presenting Gold Standard Certificates annually to a select group of clinics across the nation for attendance, best weight maintenance data and other categories. HMR Programs nationwide submit clinical data in these areas and the top programs are presented with the HMR Gold Standard Certificate of Achievement.

“We were very pleased to receive awards for so many aspects of our program,” said Renee Trapp, Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center health educator. “Losing weight helps our participants gain health and control their health care costs.”

Certificates are awarded in categories such as greatest weight-loss rates, outstanding group attendance and diet compliance.

“It’s important to remember that awards are nice, but the outcomes for our patients are what we really focus on,” said Kelly Murphy, HMR health educator, Marshfield Clinic Wausau Center. “Some specific health improvements for participants who lost weight include significant drops in total cholesterol, triglycerides and blood glucose numbers and also a dramatic increase for all in physical activity.”
