Hospice volunteers needed in Stevens Point, Wausau

Hospice is about living each day to the fullest. It’s about helping individuals dying of terminal illness live each day in a pain-free environment, with dignity and peace. As a hospice volunteer, you can be a part of this incredible journey.
Ascension at Home is offering a free, comprehensive training course for individuals who are interested in becoming hospice volunteers. Volunteers are assigned to roles dependent on their individual interests and abilities, as well as availability.
Hospice volunteers spend time reading aloud, holding a hand, completing a puzzle, playing music, taking a walk and/or simply being a friend to those in the final chapter of their life. In addition, hospice volunteers can provide breaks for caregivers, complete light housekeeping, run errands, provide pet therapy, honor veterans, assist with clerical work, sew Memory Bears, and/or promote hospice through outreach education. These volunteer opportunities offer a great amount of flexibility and tremendous opportunity for personal growth.
Personal training and ongoing support for all volunteer positions will be provided. Our free training sessions are available to anyone in our community and will be held:
