Grow greens this winter with help from event at MCPL Wausau

Winter is generally thought of as a cold, barren time of the year when almost nothing grows, but that doesn’t have to be the case! Learn how to grow your own microgreens throughout the frigid winter months (and any other time of the year) during a program on January 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Microgreens are herb or vegetable greens that are harvested no more than a month after germinating. UW-Extension Horticulture Educator Brianna Wright will talk about the best way to grow them, why they’re good for us and how to keep the plants healthy indoors during this free and informative presentation. After the presentation, Brianna will also answer general questions from attendees about their lawn, trees and gardens.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7230 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/7260.
