Visit MCPL Marathon City Branch for historic children’s books exhibit
Are you interested in literature and history? Then visit the Marathon County Public Library in November, when we’ll have a variety of historic children’s books on display throughout the month! The display will be set up from November 1-30 at the library’s Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City. Visit any time the library is open to view the display.
Children’s readers including McGuffey’s Eclectic Readers, the Alice and Jerry series, Elson Basic Readers, Wheeler’s Graded Readers, and Lights to Literature will be on display throughout the month. Patrons can look at and read from these antique books, which range in copyright date from 1879 to 1970. Come relive the books you read as a child or see what your parents or grandparents read when they were in school!
Patrons are also encouraged to join us for a special event on November 1 from 1-2 p.m., where attendees are asked to bring a book that they read when they were a small child and the memories associated with that book and learning to read.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-443-2775 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5774.
