Learn about local historic fur farm during event at MCPL Mosinee Branch

Did you know that, at one time, the largest silver fox and mink farm in the United States was located in Marathon County? Come learn about the history of this local farm on November 1 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee.
Ben Clark from the Marathon County Historical Society will share the incredible history of the Fromm Brothers, who first made a name (and a fair bit of money) for themselves growing ginseng before turning their attention to breeding silver foxes. The brothers helped pioneer techniques in ginseng growing and sponsored research that led to the discovery of the distemper vaccine.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-693-2144 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5690.
