Learn about LENA Start program during info session at MCPL Marathon City
The first three years of a child’s life are vital to brain development, and speech is one of the most important factors. Come and learn about an initiative that will set your child up for success in school and beyond on October 22 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon City.
Dr. Corrie Norrbom will give a presentation about the LENA Start program happening this fall at four locations, including our MCPL’s Wausau Headquarters. Dr. Norrbom will describe how language exposure affects early brain development in infants, how the LENA Start program works and how last semester’s classes went. Information will also be given about how interested families can sign up for the next semester of the program.
LENA Start is made possible through a partnership between the Marathon County Public Library, the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS,) Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin-Central Wisconsin.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-443-2775 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5771.
