Travel to the past with logging event at MCPL Spencer Branch
Central Wisconsin’s history is rich with sawmills and logging towns that boomed due to the high demand for wood and paper products. The public is invited to come learn about these sawmills and how they shaped our area on October 2 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer.
Gary Gisselman from the Marathon County Historical Society will talk about the sawmills that were in Marathon County and how logging became such an important part of the area’s culture and economy.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-659-3996 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/4964.
