Make your own handmade perfume at MCPL Hatley Branch
Did you know that perfume is thought to have originated in ancient Mesopotamia? It did, and you can learn that and more during a special event on September 24 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Hatley Branch, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley.
Attendees will learn the fascinating history of perfumes, from ancient times in Rome and Greece to modern aromatherapy. Explore the science of the sense of smell, how famous perfumes are made, and learn how essential oils are found in today’s products. Then, attendees will have the chance to create their own personalized perfume to take home with them! All supplies will be provided.
This event is free and open to the public, with registration required. For more information or to register, call 715-446-3537 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5474.
