Learn to quilt with new program at MCPL Stratford Branch

Do some math work with your patchwork! Join us every other Tuesday to discover the beauty of math through the art of quilting! The Marathon County Public Library will being offering its “Stratford Stitchers and Rippers” program on September 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library’s Stratford Branch, 400 N. Fourth Ave., Stratford.
Participants will first learn how to design their own quilt using paper, and then be taught the fundamentals of hand quilting to piece together their very own quilt. Attendees can expect to learn about the use of color and the cool history of quilting in America (and have a few laughs along the way!) Anyone 10 years old and older are welcome to attend.
This program will be held biweekly throughout the fall, with future sessions slated for October 9, October 23, November 6 and November 20, all from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
