All ages invited to new Book-to-Movie event at MCPL Wausau

People always say that the book is better than the movie, but what do you think? Come ready to debate during the Marathon County Public Library’s new Book-to-Movie discussion group on October 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
During this first session, patrons of all ages are invited to watch the 2007 film adaptation of Charlotte’s Web starring Dakota Fanning, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey and more. Then, we’ll discuss the movie and how it compares to E.B. White’s classic book, about a young girl who forms a bond with Wilbur the pig. When it comes to light that Wilbur will eventually be slaughtered and eaten, Wilbur receives some help from Charlotte the spider, who weaves praiseworthy messages about Wilbur into her webs.
This event is free and open to all ages, with no registration required. For more information, call 715-261-7220 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/5680.
