Revisit ‘social media’ of the past during event at MCPL Spencer Branch

Nowadays, most folks keep in touch via email, text message or through social media sites like Facebook. But how did people stay in contact and learn about each other’s lives before computers? Revisit the past during this interesting historical presentation on September 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Marathon County Public Library’s Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer.
Local historian Ronald Draeger will talk about the various ways people used to stay in touch, including the local post offices, local newspapers and the telephone system in Spencer.
This event is free and open to the public with no registration required. For more information, call 715-659-3996 or visit https://mcpl.us/events/4815.
