Kids encouraged to donate pennies for animals at MCPL Wausau
This summer, children will have the opportunity to help animals in need starting in their own community! The Marathon County Public Library will be accepting donations for its Pennies for Animals program from June 11 through Aug. 11 at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.
Kids can visit the library’s children’s area to donate pennies and other monetary donations and then vote for which animal-related non-profit organization they’d like to receive the money. At the end of the summer, the total will be donated to the organization that receives the most votes on behalf of the children of Marathon County.
In 2017, MCPL donated over $100 to the Humane Society of Marathon County and the library hopes to top that donation this year for some lucky organization!
