Wausau River District announces new assistant director
The Wausau River District announces the recent hire of Tiffany Lee as its assistant director.
Tiffany, a Wausau resident, has served as the organization’s social media volunteer and was offered a more advanced role in the organization in early May of this year. She started her new position on May 14.
Tiffany brings with her a bachelor’s degree in marketing and is currently working on her master’s degree in communications. Her work experience includes years of working in higher education including Northcentral Technical College and Rasmussen College. Most recently, as a membership engagement coordinator for the Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes.
Lee’s hire brings the Wausau River District back up to two year-round staff, after the former assistant director accepted an offer to serve as the executive director in April of this year. Blake Opal-Wahoske, the organization’s executive director, believes that hiring an assistant director is necessary.
“Over the last few years the organization has been growing at an unexpected rate, which makes it necessary to have two year round staff,” he said. “Tiffany is an ideal hire for the position because of her background in marketing and community engagement, as well as her passion for downtown.”
